My Mac Quad

Lately I have been getting fed up of having to carry around my big pro palette so I decided to go into mac and get the Quad pro palette. I find it so much easier for travelling having a quad instead of carrying around 15 eye shadows when I'm probably only going to use 3 or 4 of them.

The colours I have in my quad are Orb, All That Glitters, Omega and Mulch. As you can see Orb and Omega are matte. I like to use Orb as a base colour or as a highlight on my brow bone or in the inner corner of my eye, I really like orb because it isn't too much of an intense highlight but it still does the job. I use Omega to fill in my brows, it comes in really handy being able to have my brow colour in with my eye shadows because then it's one less product for me to have to have in my makeup bag.  The next two colours have a little bit of simmer/glitter in them. All That Glitters is probably one of my all time favourite MAC shades, well I think everyone loves it! It is just really simple, you can just put it all over your eye and then you are done! But say if you want a bit more definition you could add Mulch into the crease or outer corner of the eye to make it more smokey. Also Mulch is a really nice shade to put all over the eye lid and then smoke it out at the edges, it works really well for a simple and quick smokey eye.

I feel as if this is the perfect quad for me, it makes it so much easier having my eyeshadows in one place and in such a compact way. It's the perfect size when travelling and for my make up bag!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Range

I have always loved the body shop as a brand, but until a few months ago I had not tried any of their Tea Tree range. Lately my skin has been struggling with breakouts, so I wanted to try something that is affordable but is also going to work. Even though my skin suffers from breakouts and can be oily sometimes I have to be very careful because I have extremely sensitive skin.

I wanted to try products that had tea tree in them because I know that tea tree is really good for your skin. I was watching a youtube video of somebody's skin care routine and they were using the body shop tea tree toner and had said that it had improved their skin a lot, so the next time I went into town I made my way to the body shop to get this toner!

I normally find that toners can be harsh on my skin and that when I put them on the tend to sting a little bit but I didn't have that problem with this toner. This toner is really affordable as it is only £5. I am now on my second bottle of this and I have really been enjoying using this in my skin care routine.

By using the tea tree toner my skin was starting to clear up, so i decided to try a couple of tea tree cleansers.

The first one the tried was the Cool & Creamy Wash this claims to " Get skin spotlessly clean without over drying" and I would say it does that it didn't get rid of all of my spots but it certainly helped to clear my skin up. It also didn't dry my skin out which I was worried about because sometimes tea tree can do that to your skin. The Cool & Creamy Wash is £5 as well so this is also really affordable.

The other cleanser that I have tried is the Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser, and I have to say that this one is my favourite out of the two. Personally I prefer a cleanser that foams up but thats just what I like.  This Cleanser says that is is suitable for blemished skin, sometimes cleansers can sting a little if you do have blemished skin, but this one doesn't sting at all. It also claims to "remove impurities and excess oil, for clearer looking skin." This makes my skin less oily and has really helped making my skin look a lot clearer.

I really like using a tea tree face cleanser because it makes you feel really refreshed once you have used it.

In the summer I never really want to wear a full coverage foundation as they are so heavy on the skin, but this year I discovered this after watching one of Zoella's videos and she used this. Ever since I got the Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream I have used it everyday. It has just even coverage to cover any blemishes and dark circles, it is lovely and light on the skin and it doesn't really look like you have anything on. As this had tea tree in it as well it is also good for your skin.

I have it in the shade 01 and this is the perfect shade for me. The shade range isn't too great as it only comes in 3 shades, but it is a new product so I'm sure they will bring out some more shades. This is also very affordable as it is £8 which I think is very reasonable for a really good BB cream!

Current Beauty Favourites

I have had most of these products in my make-up collection for a while now so instead of writing about them individually I thought I would do a post on my current beauty favourites. So I can group these all together and do a mini review on each.

I am going to start with the Loreal Paris True Match Foundation, I have been using this foundation for a few months now and I have got to say it is probably my favourite foundation. I really like the formula of this as it isn't to thick. It gives a medium coverage but you can build it up to a higher coverage. I have it in the colour N1 which is the perfect match for my skin. It is also long wearing I usually just have to touch up around my nose like I normally do with other foundations.

The powder I have been LOVING lately is the 'One Heck Of A Blot' powder from Soap And Glory. I have only had this powder for a few weeks but I am in love with already, I actaully prefer this the the Rimmel London Stay Matte powder *shock horror*. This powder makes my foundation last a lot longer than it normally does, it also does not make me look like I have powder on as it is very fine. This powder is amazing if you get an oily shine through out the day.

I don't really wear that much blusher but I really want to start wearing it more and then a friend suggested that I try this Chanel powder blush in '72 Rose Initial'. It's a really pretty light pink with a little bit of shimmer running through it and I really like this blush, I have worn it everyday since I got it.

I have already done a whole post on the NYX Butter Gloss' but I have really been loving the shade Vanilla Cream Pie, its a really pretty nude pink, which is lovely for spring. As I have said before I love the formula for these are they aren't to sticky but are still really creamy. Here is the link to the post I done about the NYX Butter Glosses. http://all-thinggs-lovely.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/nyx-butter-glosses-worth-hype.html

Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint By Barry M.

Okay yes I admit it... I should of listened to everyone when they said how amazing these nail polishes are! So I was recently in boots doing a little bit of make-up shopping as you do, and I was looking for some new nail polishes to add to my collection. So I went on over to the Barry M stand and picked up three of these Gelly nail polishes, that everyone has been raving about for months! The three shades I picked up are (from right to left) PAPYA, BLUEBERRY & LYCHEE.

The polishes are a bargin at only £3.99 each and I took advantage of boots 3 for 2 offer once again. So it was even better for my bank balance.

At first I was a bit worried that the formula would be on the gloopy side and take ages to dry, but I was pleasantly suprised!

All polishes applied really well and the consistency is just right. I used two coats when applying these. These polishes also dry really quickly which is very handy if you are like me and HATE waiting for your nails to dry!

My nails were chip free for about three days, which I think is pretty long wearing for a drugstore nail polish. Then when I removed the nail polish it came off so easily which is good becasue then you don't have to sit there for ages scrubing your nails!

I am really happy with these nail polishes and I am sure I will be adding a few more of these to my collection!

NYX Butter Glosses: Worth The Hype?

So last week I went to professional beauty at the excel expedition centre and I came across the NYX stand so I just had to try out these butter glosses after hearing so much about them.

I was so happy to finally get my hands on these after hearing so many good things about them and I can confirm... they do not disappoint!

This is what NYX have to say about the butter glosses:
Buttery soft and silky smooth, our scrumptious new Butter Lip Gloss tastes as sweet as a sugar cookie and makes your lips look downright luscious. Swipe it on alone or over your favourite lipstick for creamy sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky.

In my opinion, these do all of those things beautifully. I love the scent and texture of these glosses they are so different to anything I have in my collection. These glosses are super creamy and smooth, the texture does have a tiny bit of stickyness to it. But I personally love the balance, it allows them to be smooth and lovely to wear, but also keeps them on your lips for longer. I found these glosses really moisturising aswell.

There are 12 shades in this collection and they retail for £5. The majority of these shades are creamy nudes and neutrals, and a couple of more bold shades in there aswell. I only have two shades at the moment 'Vanilla Cream Pie' (the pink shade) and 'Apple Strudel' (the peach shade) but I will defintely be buying some more of these soon, I think I have found a new favourite and now feel the need to buy the whole collection.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I'll see you next week with another post!
